Beirut Crisis Response

The American Task Force on Lebanon is working to mobilize the Lebanese-American community and friends of Lebanon to support a number of critical projects.


Within 24 hours of the explosion in Beirut, ATFL began outreach efforts to Congress, the Administration, and humanitarian organizations to get immediate humanitarian relief to the Lebanese people including organizing airlifts of medical supplies on a people to people basis with more than 50 organizations and individuals contributing resources and expertise.

What ATFL is doing


ATFL supported a bipartisan letter from members of the House of Representatives to Secretary of State Pompeo asking for increased humanitarian assistance to Lebanon.

ATFL is advocating for House Resolution 1077 which calls for the continued support and strong relations between US and Lebanon.

ATFL is advocating for Senate Resolution 682 which extends heartfelt condolences to the people of Lebanon on behalf of the US Senate, and reiterates support for ongoing US efforts to provide emergency humanitarian relief to Lebanon in concert with other international partners to those impacted.

ATFL supported a bipartisan letter from the Senate to Secretary of State Pompeo and Acting USAID Administrator John Barsa calling on the US Administration to help stabilize Lebanon and respond to demands for reform.

Call your Member of Congress to support H.R. 1077! Dial 202-225-3121 and ask to speak with your Representative.

Ask them to support House Resolution 1077 in order to strengthen US-Lebanon bilateral relations at such a critical time in Lebanon's history.

Ask them to co-sponsor and support Senate Resolution 682 in order to encourage ongoing US efforts to provide emergency humanitarian relief to the people to Lebanon.
